What's New for CCS 2012 BC 8/9 Ball Championships
1. Foyer Show - Paul Potier
- This is something we've long wanted to have and this is the year.
- The CCS has arranged for Paul Potier from Vancouver BC to provide what will be very entertaining and instructional Foyer Shows on Friday and Saturday throughout the afternoon and evening.
-
Who's Paul Potier? For the last 20 years, he has been BC's most accomplished Pool Player, Pool Instuctor and Pool Entertainer.
-
How accomplished? Represented Canada at the World Games in 2001 in Japan and in 2005 in Germany, twice Canadian 9Ball Champion, former Canadian Professional Player of the Year, former member of the TSN Canadian 'Border Battle' team. Still plays and still a force to be reckoned with.
- Paul is also well known for his 'Pool School in Paradise' with co-instructors Allison Fisher, Gerda Hofstatter and Mike Massey. Paul will be coming a couple of days early - Wed and Thurs. If any player or team wants to take advantage, Paul will be available for private instruction those days.
2. CCS Website Online Chart Updates
- Another item we've long wanted to do and this is the year.
- The CCS has long had it's own software on the CCS website which it uses to run the tournament.
- Now for the 1st time, those online Tournament Charts for every Event will be updated throughout the tournament!
- Now your friends and family can keep tab on how you and others are doing as the tourney progresses.
- Not a world first, but a first for us and we're pleased to be able to provide it.
3. Free Team Pictures
- The CCS has arranged for a professional photographer to take and provide a free picture of every team that will be labelled with the CCS 2012 BC Championships.
- Extra copies of the team pictures or individual pictures can be provided for a reasonable charge.
- The CCS will later post all of the team pictures on the CCS website.

CCS - Championship Staff
We just have to give a shout out to our Tournament Directors and Referees who always keep CCS Championships on track and running smooth. With years of experience, they make it look easy when it's not.
The Tournament Director for the Canadians is Gary Benson from Ft. Collins Colorado. For the BC's and the Westerns, it's Chris Kelly from Calgary AB. Both have done every CCS Championship to date; 18 so far and still counting.
For the Referees, every Championship is manned by fully certified ACS National Referees, headed by Jeff Phythian from Calgary AB and Wayne Dwyer from Toronto ON. Just like Allstate, you couldn't be in better hands. You may not like the call but I can almost guarantee it will be the right one.
CCS - Player Rankings
We take player rankings very seriously. The fairness of every Championship depends on it.
Every player is assigned one and the Division (Standard, Open or Advanced) that you can enter in any Event of any CCS or ACS Championship will be based on it.
Singles Ranking - based on 8 Ball Singles Events; your last 2 performances. Team Ranking - based on 8 Ball Team Events; your last 2 performances.
For more detailed information, click on 'Player Rankings' in the middle of the left sidebar.
